"Once upon a rainbow
Far beyond the sweetest dreams
Clouds were made of fairy dust
High above rainbow colored streams.

Each day was filled with fantasy
Magic moments of joy and laughter
And every thought you'd ever think
Lived happily ever after.

Now one bright sunny day
On a truly glorious morn
Something very magical happened
Fairy Tails were born." ¹

Welcome to
fairytailscollector.com!

Formerly "Flight of Fancy: a Fairy Tails Birds Site", we now have a brand new look and our own dedicated web home! I'll be working on transferring over all the info to the new format, and uploading new pics for all the birds as well.

About:

This site contains information and photos of loose and MIB Fairy Tail birds, as well as information on their accessories, restoration tips, bird identification help, and much more.

"From the land of beautiful dreams come these fine feathered friends who bring happy endings! These magnificent birds have long, fluffy feathers for little girls to comb and style. Fairy Tails can sit on a child's finger or on the perch included. Their feet also open up to a flat position so they can stand upright, too. And Fairy Tails have adorable chest designs and distinct personalities to make them extra special."¹

The Fairy Tails toy line was produced by Hasbro starting around 1987 alongside it's more popular cousin, My Little Pony, and was available in several counties around the globe. MLP's share the traits of having colorful plastic bodies, painted symbols and brightly colored brushable hair. While they were completely separate toy lines, Fairy Tails birds often get incorrectly classified as part of the My Little Pony Best Friends series due to these similarities. The birds came packed in both boxes and bubble-cards, occasionally with accessory variations, under several different languages depending on location.

During their span, they enjoyed releases of several new bird series, a few playsets, and even some mail order offers. The UK was home to a variation of the Fuzzy Tummies birds, commonly called Fluffy Tummies, due to the extra long plush tummy fur used in their manufacturing.

Updates:

1-2-11: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Added a new page with a few Fairy Tails commercials for your viewing enjoyment! Click the "Commercials" tab. Also added Twilight Tails' backcard story and the French-Canadian names for for all of the Original 12 birds. Tropicals pages are up, but is only linked to main page so far. Most dont have pics up yet, either. Will add rest of pics and get it all linked up to everything else soon!

12-5-10: Updated the Sunshine Gazebo page to fix some spelling. I lost a lot of pictures and info a few months back when lightning fried my hard drive. Slowly rebuilding from that. Look for the missing sections of the site to be finished up after the winter holidays are past!

7-18-10: Fixed some broken Icon links on the Playsets page.

Birds with happy endings!
